Living Space Theatre, (formerly READCO), is based in Dublin, Ireland and is a creative partnership and umbrella organisation for the artistic work of director Tara Derrington (above right) and playwright Michelle Read (above left).

The company reflects the work of both directors, independently and in collaboration, and also engages with other playwrights, directors and theatre-makers through commission, developmental workshops and co-productions.

Tara Derrington is particularly interested in the relationship between audience, performer and space and in recent shows this has lead to the exploration of key elements of live performance such as proximity of actors to audience, where audience can be in relation to the performing space and whether the audience see or hear all of the narrative. MORE

Michelle Read writes about identity and making sense of the contemporary self. Her recent plays have been about how a person comes to be who they are and the choices that are involved. Like Tara she is also interested in how the audience directly experiences the performance. MORE

All the company’s work to date is newly made and contemporary in style and content. It includes interactive, experimental, autobiographical and site-specific productions.
